MD Explosion!

Ryan bought me a big thing of Mountain Dew the other day so today I thought I would fill my water bottle with ice and MD and take it to class with me. I put the bottle into the side pocket of my backpack and walked to class. When I got to class I set the bottle on the desk and then opened it. Mountain Dew came shooting from the straw and straight into my face (hitting directly in my right eye) and all over my desk and anyone else that was close by. Everyone in the class started laughing except one girl that asked if I was ok. All I could say was "Oh my GOSH, it's in my eye!" It stung for a bit so I literally ran to the restroom to clean up. Mountain Dew got in my hair, nose, eye, and all over my new shirt. When I got back to class they had already cleaned up the mess for me which was so nice. My teacher missed the whole episode so I had to explain to him what happened and again laughter filled the room. What a great way to start the week with a classic case of Murphy's Law.

You can see how this bottle could spray me. I guess the pressure got too high so when I flipped the straw sucker thing (or whatever you want to call it) all the pressure had only one way to get out and I happened to be in the way.

The Good Kind of Temptation

I could smell them from the other isle in Walmart and I had to have them! So delicious I could not resist. Yummy Yummy strawberries and they were actually fantastic even if it isn't quite strawberry session yet. Oh so good.

Let the Games Begin

All four brothers were able to squeeze onto my couch to "game it up" as they say. Aren't they cute! Oh and they brought with them another TV so they are playing on too huge TV screens (I guess one isn't good enough) and yes they scooted the couch up so they could "see" better. Silly Silly Boys.

Dream Home Continued

I'm sorry I am just a little bit psycho. So after deciding I like color more than black and white I had to change up the bedroom idea. I love yellow and think this room is awesome.

This room absolutely rocks. I'm not a fan of the "love" sign by other than that I think it is great.
Much better than black and white right!? I think yes!

Dream Home

Let me start off by saying I am sick and stuck in bed so I have nothing better to do than blog. That is the reason for so many posts by me! I am obsessing over what I want my home to look like so I pulled pics off the internet to put together the inside of my dream home. I love modern and contemporary styles and in these pics there are things I would keep and change about the room. I will explain what those things are along this fancy "tour." You will notice that I am still trying to decide whether I like black and white rooms or colorful rooms better.

First stop... Kitchen! I love the colors. I would hang a great big contemporary painting of a spoon and fork on the wall. Fantastic!

I love both these living rooms, like I said I can't decide whether I like color or black and white better. Good thing I don't have to decide now. This first room is a little too white for me, I like more black and I would add some kind of accent color within the decor.

This room is fabulous. I just love it. I think I just decided just now that I like this one so much better. Once again with the orange, ahh I love it!

I have to say though, my bedroom will always stay black and white. Look at that amazing wall art! Holy crap I want it.

Last but not least... The Bathroom. Once again, the wall art is awesome and I want it. I think the sink is stupid though because there is no counter space. And the duck is stupid. But I do love the wall color, who would have thought that would look good!? I cannot believe it! I just made the decision that I like colorful rooms better. Thank you Mr. Blog you helped me make up my mind.

Perfect

Picture this... pepperoni rug with this couch. Call me crazy but I think it is fabulous!

Quick and Easy Wall Art

I first saw this project on HGTV it consists of making a frame and stabling fabric onto it to make some easy and cheap wall art. I spent a total of $15 and that consists of fabric, 2 rectangle frames, 3 square frames and I still had extra wood. I picked out the fabric right away I just love the orange (even if Ryan doesn't like it). I have had this fabric sitting around for months because I didn't know how to make a frame. Solution = Father!

We went to my parents for Spring Break so I brought my fabric along so my Dad could help me out. We went to Home Depot and ran in literally a minute before closing. They were so nice to let us in and even cut my wood so it would fit in the car. I bought a bunch of 2" x 2"s. Father's Tip: hold the wood at an angle and look down it to see if the wood is straight! It works! My wonderful father helped me make these! He didn't do it for me, he showed me how. I had to measure, cut (using a saw!), and I even used the nail gun. Now I know how to make these myself even though I would probably ask my dad to help me again before doing it myself.

Next I laid the frame onto my fabric. Fold the sides up and over and stable using a stable gun. Simple right!? By the way my frames we 15" x 30" the perfect size. Also my Dad helped me make 3 more smaller square frames so I can make more of these.

Then I added a little hook/hanger onto the back, put a nail in the wall and done!

These look smaller in the photos than they really are. I love them and can't wait to turn my apartment into an awesome space. Right now these are the only part of my decor that I like. Hopefully I will be able to finish everything else so my place will look great!

Nasty Couch

Ryan and I got this couch from the Institute (They had to get rid of all couches and only have chairs so students don't do naughty activities...they said something about laying down and getting into trouble). So we are the proud owners of this nasty red couch that apparently has naughty potential. Anyway I absolutely hate this couch so I have been bugging Ryan about getting me new couches when we move. Since we aren't moving soon enough my creative juices have been flowing. I have been thinking to myself... "What do I do with this hideous couch?" Solution! Make a fabulous slipcover with some awesome fabric. Then I won't need new couches and I will save hundreds of dollars. I am a beginner sewer so this project seems really hard for me. I am trying to decided if I should tackle this project or just let Ryan buy me some new couches. I think it would be fun but I would need a lot of patience, something I don't have a lot of. I guess if it doesn't work I can still have my new couches in the end.

I love black and white and would love to do something like this. I love the stripes, I want it to be bold and to make a statement. I wish I had time to paint all my decor black and white with just a few accent colors so that my apartment can actually be cute. I have a vision of what I want everything to look like but it is so hard for me to make the vision come to life. It would also help if the apartment people would let me paint the walls... stupid apartment people. Oh well, hopefully one day it will happen. I sure do love this kind of thing.

Let me know what you think I should do.

The Best Place in The World

That's right! My bed is the best place in the world. I am a big time napper and would love to live in my bed for the rest of my life. P.S. notice the boards that I made for a "headboard." Great right!

There's No Place Like Home

I get to finally see my family! Going home, going home. I am just so excited and even more excited to get to see my favorite cousin get married. I love you Koryn and I am so excited for you and your soon to be husband.

I totally made this!

My wonderful mother-in-law traded a lady in her ward pictures for sewing lessons for me! So I have been getting free sewing lessons once a week from an amazing lady. I made this skirt! It looks way better in person and it is way cute with a shirt tucked in, it is a high waisted pencil skirt. Anyway I am so proud of myself for actually finishing something I started. I love it and am so excited that I actually made it!

Why can't it be easy!?

I am currently the heaviest I have ever been. I feel like crap every day and I hate getting ready because nothing fits. So I have been going to the gym almost everyday for an hour and I have mostly stopped eating the fatty foods. I have been at this for almost a month and, on my good days, I have lost a grand total of 3 pounds! That's it! Why can't I lose more? My body is fighting me about the whole situation I swear. I am getting so frustrated and I just want to look like the lovely model below. The good thing about working out a lot is that I feel better during the day and I am actually really enjoying and looking forward to going to the gym. But seriously, why can't it be easier and why can't I lose anymore weight. I have 20 pounds to go so I guess I just need to stay motivated and get my big butt to the gym more often.

My Goal:
To look like this.

Church Callings

In our new ward in Powell, Wyoming I have 2 callings. The first calling Ryan and I do together. We teach the 16-17 year old Sunday school and absolutely love it. It's really fun to teach this age although it is hard to get them to interact at times but they are so fun. And we love bringing them treats. (Mainly for ourselves..) As my second calling I am the secretary in young womens. I love working with the girls as well, BUT there have been 2 times were I have been mistaken for a laurel. Yes, it is true. One of the women I serve with thought I was a young women and told me about it. And a father told me his 2 girls were wondering for 2 weeks who the new laurel was. I am a leader! I am young but I am a leader I promise. It's awkward knowing everyone is thinking the same thing... Is she a leader? or one of the girls? Oh it is so sad. But I love the calling just the same!
