Help!

Yesterday I bought this black side table. It needs a new paint job but I can't decide what to do with it. I have too many black objects as it is so I need a fun idea.

I love love this striped table but its more of a modern style and my table looks more traditional so would my table look good with stripes? I love the color scheme but I would probably do white and a light grey. Yes? No? Help me!

I also like this idea. The top is paper and I could get very creative with what I could choose from. What should I do? I can also just paint it a plain color but I want something unique that not many people have.

Any new ideas would be wonderful.

So excited!

I am so excited about this new project I am working on. I have been making hair bows, hair bow holders, and going to make jewelry once all the stuff I bought gets here. And I plan on taking them to work and seeing if my boss with sell them in her store. Cross your fingers! If not I am going to make a website and sell them that way. These are the hair bow holders I made today. I love them and can't wait to be creative and make many more. I made the bows too.

I hope I am successful with these! They look much better in person. P.S. Emily I owe you one of these. The one I made you before isn't as good as these so therefore I am going to make you one!

Sick of Living in a Mess

Ryan and I have been in Laramie for almost 3 months. We are in the school apartments right now but we are moving in 3 weeks to a better and cheaper apartment. Can't wait! So since we knew we would be moving again we didn't unpack so we have been living in a complete mess this whole time. And I am SICK of it!

We left our couch in Powell and were planning on buying a new one once we got here but plans change and we decided not to get one until after our second move. We now realize why people have couches! We miss having a couch so much. We finally moved our TV into our bedroom because I got so sick of sitting on the floor to watch TV. Our living room (below) is just a messy room of opened boxes. I cannot wait to finally have a home again.

I just had to show our kitchen and what I have to work with. Yep this is it. The entire kitchen in this little corner. Oh it is such a "Joy" cooking in here. I CAN"T WAIT TO MOVE!

Peaceful Walk

Ryan and I went on a walk the other day and found some lovely surprises. Flowers! We saw wild snap dragons. Who knew they could grow in the wild? Ryan didn't know what they were so I opened its mouth and said "Rarrr" just like Mom does.

They were bright yellow. Sorry the pics suck it was getting dark so my flash took over.

And then I found this flower just lying on the sidewalk waiting for me.

I feel like my Mother when I notice all the flowers. Its a good thing because I miss home and it helps to know that I have part of my Mom in me.

Delicious!

I love salmon and trying out new recipes. This time I tried one of Bobby Flay's recipes and it was the best decision ever, when it comes to choosing recipes, yet! It was so good I didn't have time to even think about taking a picture because I gobbled it up. This is the closest picture I found to resemble what I made. The glaze was so good that you will certainly drench the salmon with it like in this pic.

Salmon with Brown Sugar and Mustard Glaze

Ingredients
Salmon:
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 salmon fillets, 6 ounces each

Directions

On the side burner, melt the brown sugar, honey and butter in a small saute pan over medium-high heat. Remove from the heat and whisk in the mustard, soy sauce, olive oil and ginger. Let cool.

Preheat grill to medium heat. Brush salmon with vegetable oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Place the salmon skin side down on the grill. Coat the flesh of the salmon fillets with the brown sugarmixture. Grill for 6 to 8 minutes to medium doneness, turning once after 5 to 6 minutes.

Bri's Tips: I used regular mustard instead dijon and it was still amazing. I also don't have a grill so I wrapped the salmon in tin foil, put it on a cookie sheet and baked the fish at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. It was awesome and the tin foil kept all the juice and moisture inside with the fish. Also heat up and save some sauce to spoon over the fish when ready to eat.
